All of Apple’s News Today: First Up, It’s an iPhone 4S

We are keeping a close eye on all the news coming out of Apple’s big iPhone announcement, which is set to start  at 1 p.m. ET. And as they announce new products and features, we’ll put putting them here.  First up: it’s a very familiar looking iPhone!

iPhone 4S

With 45 minutes still to go before Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” event, a pair of new images appeared on the Apple Store website. No, it’s not the teardrop-shaped iPhone 5 everybody’s been dying to see, but the iPhone 4S. The filenames tell the whole story. As 9-to-5 Mac reports, the URLs read “iPhone-4s” and if you take out the “s”, the image changes to the regular iPhone 4 image. (The black model is here. The white one is here.) You can see the difference in the icons–“iPod” is now “Music” and there are a couple of new apps. As we noted yesterday, there’s mounting anxiety that Apple’s big iPhone upgrade won’t be that big after all, and this is the first indication that fear could be realized.

We’ll be updating this post with more iPhone news as it breaks.
